Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a clinical psychologist to lead the psychology department in a purpose-built acute inpatient hospital, delivering high-quality, patient-centred psychological care.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and improve mental health outcomes for adults experiencing acute episodes, conducting assessments, formulations, and interventions.

Part-time role (22.5 hours per week) with pro-rata salary of £64,000.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered psychologist with relevant experience in acute mental health care.
• Experience leading a psychology department and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to deliver specialist assessments, formulations and group interventions.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and recovery-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions for service users with complex needs.
• Oversee the psychology service, supporting the team in delivering assessments, formulations, and group interventions.
• Participate in referral assessments and make autonomous clinical decisions regarding care plans.
• Implement and evaluate person-centred treatment plans using structured psychometric and clinical methods.
• Maintain professional and legal accountability in line with HCPC standards and organisational policies.
• Contribute to a therapeutic environment by promoting meaningful daily activities and recovery-focused care.
