Job summary

Cardiff Hazardous Waste Transfer Station is seeking an experienced Site Operative for a 45-hour week on rotating early and late shifts in Cardiff. The role pays £30,200 per year and may include occasional weekend work.

A valid Counterbalance FLT licence is essential, with duties including manual handling and general site housekeeping. You'll work as part of a team in a busy waste processing environment, targeting daily objectives while adhering to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, in-date Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Be comfortable undertaking manual handling duties in a busy waste processing environment.
• Experience in the waste industry would be advantageous.
• Supervisory experience, first aid or fire marshal training are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Accept, physically treat and dispatch packed waste materials from household collections.
• Work towards daily targets while operating safely in a busy waste transfer station.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures, working effectively as part of a team.
• Carry out manual handling, sorting, weighing, repacking and housekeeping duties.
