Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd is seeking a Hatchery Operative at our Romsey Hatchery in Hampshire. You will support daily hatchery tasks, sorting chicks, handling eggs, and maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

No prior experience required as full training will be provided; the role includes a 39-hour week with overtime opportunities and a FTC to 2027. Pension and wellbeing resources are among the benefits.

Qualifications

• Good level of basic English and numeracy skills.
• Team-orientated with effective communication.
• Strong attention to detail with flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure chicks are sorted into required grades and quantities for farm delivery.
• Assist in moving eggs from storage to incubating and hatching machines.
• Clean equipment after use to high standards.
• Safeguard biosecurity and follow procedures.
• Observe bird welfare and health & safety on site.
