Job summary

Forestry England in the East region is seeking an Operations Manager - Harvesting & Marketing to lead timber harvesting and related marketing activities across the East Forest District. The role is fixed term to 31 March 2029 with the possibility of extension, offering a 37-hour work week and hybrid working options at Santon Downham (IP27 0TJ).

Salary ranges from £40,388 to £43,482 per annum. The role requires travel to other sites with overnight stays, and has a Civil Service pension

Responsibilities

• Lead the Harvesting and Marketing function to deliver safe, sustainable and commercially successful timber harvesting, marketing and supply operations across the East Forest District.
• Provide strategic leadership for harvesting programmes, timber sales, contractor performance and stakeholder engagement while contributing to the wider Forestry and Land Management team, Strategy and Business Plan.
