Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) seeks a Harm Reduction Counselor to engage drug-using populations in harm reduction services. The role covers outreach in the community, education to reduce health harms from injection and drug use, syringe exchange, overdose reversal training, and HIV/HCV counseling and testing.

You will work across CHASI sites and mobile units to support clients in reaching their health goals.

Formación

• Experience with harm reduction practices and populations served.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct street outreach and community presentations to engage drug users in harm reduction services.
• Provide harm reduction education to promote syringe safety and safe disposal of used syringes.
• Distribute naloxone kits and train on overdose reversal.
• Offer HIV and HCV counseling, testing, and linkage to care.
• Provide information, referrals, and care navigation based on client needs.
