Job summary

Arctic Research and Development in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Project Manager to drive delivery across our hardware engineering portfolio, including firmware, electronics, and mechanical work streams. This role thrives on ambiguity, delivering plans with clear milestones and accountable owners.

You will manage programs from early prototypes to fielded, mission-ready systems, oversee BOMs and supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with MIL-STD, DEFSTAN, and STANAG standards while

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or adjacent discipline.
  • 4+ years proven experience in Technical Engineering Project Management across multiple concurrent projects, delivering complex hardware products.
  • Working familiarity with MIL‑STD testing standards, UK DEFSTAN, and NATO STANAG requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to remote and extreme environments as part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, track, and de-risk delivery across concurrent hardware projects and work streams (firmware, electronics, mechanical, testing).
  • Translate product strategy into executable projects with milestones, owners, and outcomes.
  • Maintain visibility across work streams, dependencies, risks, decisions, and resourcing gaps.
  • Take ownership of BOMs and manage supplier relationships.
  • Understand hardware architecture and support engineering teams while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Act as connective tissue across engineering, procurement, business development, and customers.
  • Identify blockers fast and provide decision-ready updates.
  • Build and refine PM tooling and reporting cadence.
  • Define requirements and scope with product, customer, and technical owners.
  • Lead pilots, implementations, migrations, rollouts, adoption, and handoffs.
