Job summary

Arctic Research and Development is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the design, build, and deployment of cold-hardened hardware. You will lead end-to-end design, drive material choices, and push hardware limits from the workshop to the Arctic.

You will travel to Arctic sites for R&D field testing and collaborate with electrical, software, and deployment teams to ensure reliability in sub-zero climates. A strong background in CAD and prototyping is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a hardware portfolio.
• 5+ years in hardware development for extreme environments.
• Strong hands-on prototype and test experience with cross-functional teams.
• Experience taking a product from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and deliver Arctic-ready hardware from cradle to deployment.
• Drive materials choices, sealing, and reliability under thermal stress.
• Run cold-chamber and durability testing with the Test Engineer.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and deployment teams.
• Travel to the Arctic for R&D field testing.
• Set QA standards to keep systems bulletproof.
