Job summary

PD Ports Limited, a leading UK port business, is recruiting a Harbour Police Constable based at Teesport House, Teesport, Middlesbrough. The role covers 12-hour shifts on a rota delivering 7-day, 24-hour coverage, averaging 177.5 hours monthly, and involves protecting port property and personnel.

The candidate will apply police methods, undertake investigations on PD Ports land, and support port operations while complying with health and safety and ethics standards.

Qualifications

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must hold a valid driving licence (endorsements considered).
• Capable of working effectively unsupervised when required.
• Experience and understanding of police ethics and professional behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Daily use of police technology and IT to identify criminal activity on PD Ports land.
• Attend and investigate incidents on PD Ports land.
• Engage in Harbour Police operations and initiatives.
• Support PD Ports operations and tenants as appropriate.
• Assist Cleveland Police with requests for assistance within Harbour Police jurisdiction.
• Undertake high visibility patrols of all PD Ports estate.
• Ensure compliance with General Directions and By-Laws for Harbour Authority.
• Provide advice and problem-solving for PD Ports operations and stakeholders.
• Promote Health & Safety standards in line with PD Ports policies.
• Assist ISPS and Port Security regulations compliance and enforcement.
