Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a responsible handyperson for Palmerston Community Learning Centre in Barry. This part-time role involves opening and closing the centre, porterage, maintenance, decorating and repairs, and ensuring the building's security.

Hours are 3 hours per day over 2 days (6 hours weekly), with some flexibility for evenings and weekends; the post is temporary, subject to ongoing funding, and pays £26,847–£27,274 pro rata (£13.92–£14.14 per hour).

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 3 hours per day over 2 days (6 hours in total). The role includes 2 hours in the morning to open the Centre and 1 hour in the evening to close the Centre.

Main Place of Work: Palmerston Community Learning Centre, Cadoc Crescent, Barry CF63 2NT

Temporary Reason: Subject to on-going funding

Description: A responsible and enthusiastic handyperson is required for Palmerston Community Learning Centre. The duties involve the opening and closing of the centre, porterage, maintenance, decorating and repairs, and security of the building. Flexible hours to be negotiated with line manager, but will include days, evenings and occasional weekends.
