Manpower UK is recruiting 4 Handypersons for Reading to perform installation, maintenance and light construction tasks in residential homes. The role suits practical individuals with a background in construction, maintenance, or general building works who work well independently and take pride in delivering high-quality results.

You will travel to sites across Reading and nearby areas, ensuring high standards, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Our client is a leading provider of home improvement and property upgrade solutions, helping homeowners maximise and improve the functionality of their properties. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to recruit 4 Handypersons to join their expanding team in the Reading area.

The Role

As a Handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of installation, maintenance, and minor construction tasks within residential properties. This role would suit someone with a practical background in construction, maintenance, or general building works who enjoys working independently and takes pride in delivering high‑quality work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out general handyman and property maintenance duties
• Completing small‑scale construction and building works
• Installation of products and equipment within residential properties
• Basic carpentry, insulation, boarding, and repair works
• Using power and hand tools safely and effectively
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Providing excellent customer service while working in occupied homes
• Travelling to sites across the Reading and surrounding areas

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties
• Experience in general maintenance, handyman, or construction roles
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a positive attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work

Desirable Skills

• Carpentry or joinery experience
• Roofing, insulation, or loft‑related experience
• Multi‑trade background
• Property maintenance or home improvement experience
• CSCS Card (advantageous but not essential)
