Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking a skilled Handyman for a full-time, permanent role covering London, Kent and Essex. You will perform general maintenance, repairs and fabric upkeep across multiple sites, with a salary of £33,000–£40,000 per year, paid door to door.

Qualifications

• CSCS card
• City & Guilds or other accredited qualification in a relevant field
• Desirable: IPATH, PASMA, Fire Marshalling, First aid, Welding, NVQ Level 2 or above
• Proven experience delivering high-quality multi-trade works
• Ability to work independently on-site
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality multi-trade works that meet company standards and customer expectations
• Netting repairs and gutter cleaning
• Manage materials, tools, and time effectively to support project profitability
• Complete accurate documentation, including job sheets and site reports
• Communicate clearly with customers, the Service Centre, and colleagues throughout each project
• Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and environmental procedures
• Provide flexible support to other Multi Traders as needed
• Participate in toolbox talks, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Travel across the UK when required to support national project delivery

This full-time, permanent Handyman role covers London, Kent, and Essex, with a salary of £33,000 to £40,000, paid door to door. The successful candidate will join an established firm serving multiple Ministry of Justice estates, carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and fabric upkeep across various sites. Key skills include a broad trade knowledge spanning carpentry, plumbing, and decorating, alongside a strong customer focus and the ability to work independently. Regular overtime is available, with enhanced rates for working away. The employer provides a company pension and has operated for over 24 years, prioritising customer service and supporting its workforce with the necessary tools and resources. • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices
• Previous prison workers with security clearance desirable

Candidate Requirements:

• CSCS card
• City & Guilds or other accredited qualification in a relevant field
• Desirable but not essential: IPATH, PASMA, Fire Marshalling course, First aid, Welding Experience, NVQ Level 2 or above
