Job summary

MJM Industrial is recruiting experienced Handymen to work at Heathrow Airport, covering both airside and landside areas. The role is hands-on, requiring a practical all-rounder with multi-trade experience to maintain buildings to a high standard on active sites.

Typical duties include patch repairs, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, reactive and planned maintenance, and documentation. Nights and weekends attract uplifts; 5-year history for Heathrow clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in maintenance or facilities management.
• Valid CSCS Card is required.
• Must be flexible to work days, nights and weekends with uplifts in place.
• Must be able to provide 5 years history to obtain Heathrow clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general building fabric maintenance including patch repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Complete reactive maintenance, planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and project work within timeframes.
• Repair floor and wall coverings.
• Undertake ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
• Complete additional building and installation works as required.
• Respond to client queries, report defects and provide updates during visits.
• Accurately complete all work-related documentation and logs.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on position, ideal for a practical all-rounder with experience across multiple trades. You will be responsible for carrying out general building maintenance works to a high standard across active site environments. The role involves working a mixture of days, nights, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out general building fabric maintenance, including patch repairs, minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and decorating
• Completing reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and project work within agreed timeframes
• Repairing floor and wall coverings
• Undertaking ceiling tile repairs and replacements
• Completing additional building and installation works as required
• Responding to client queries, reporting defects, and providing site updates during service visits
• Accurately completing all work-related documentation, including inspection reports and remedial works logs

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Experience working within a maintenance or facilities management environment
• A valid CSCS Card
• Flexibility to work, days, nights, and weekends (Uplifts in place for nights and weekends)
• Must be able to provide 5 years history to obtain clearance for Heathrow
