Job summary

ISS is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance technician in the Manchester area to deliver plumbing, carpentry and general fabric maintenance, repairs and installations. You will perform planned preventative and reactive tasks to meet client expectations and safety standards.

You will also support contractor management, maintain HSE compliance and ensure equipment and workplaces meet performance criteria, reflecting the company’s focus on service quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in building fabric maintenance, repairs and installations.
• Fault-finding and maintenance across plumbing, carpentry and general building fabric disciplines.
• Experience delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Experience within Facilities Management (FM) or similar building services environments.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety processes, including risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabric-related PPM and reactive maintenance works issued through the helpdesk.
• Complete plumbing, carpentry, and general fabric repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks.
• Undertake exterior building and ground works maintenance duties.
• Respond to maintenance callouts as part of the callout rota.
• Monitor contractors and their workmanship to ensure required standards are achieved.
• Issue and manage Permits to Work where required.
• Ensure equipment within the scope of responsibility operates to specified performance criteria.
• Maintain equipment and surrounding areas in line with agreed company standards.
• Deliver a professional service that promotes customer satisfaction and reflects positively on the company.
