Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are seeking an experienced Permanent Working Supervisor / Ganger to lead gangs on water-main and civil projects along the M4 Corridor. The role combines hands-on delivery with supervision, planning, and coordinating labour, plant and materials.

Based in Swindon or along the M4, you will read drawings, set-out work, supervise excavations and ensure safety and quality. The position includes accommodation when away, with an overnight allowance of £30 per night.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising water-main installation and deep excavation works.
• Strong knowledge of excavation safety, temporary works and shoring systems.
• Ability to read drawings and understand levels, gradients and setting-out information.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate gangs on water-main and civil works.
• Plan daily activities, labour, plant and materials.
• Ensure safety, quality and programme targets are met.
