Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Hotels.com Technology in London to guide the next generation of traveler-facing services. You will own technical direction, drive system design and data modeling, and partner with Product, Design, Data, and Platform teams in small, end-to-end squads.

The role requires staying technically current, reviewing designs, prototyping, debugging production issues, and upskilling engineers across domains while balancing speed with platform health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level required or strong technical degree,
• Experience leading engineering teams with end-to-end ownership of services.
• Hands-on coding and architectural decision-making expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team in designing, building, and operating highly available, performant, and secure customer-facing services, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling for complex traveler-facing capabilities.
• Stay hands-on: contribute directly to design reviews, code reviews, prototypes, and production debugging, setting the technical bar by example.
• Shape technical strategy and long-term architecture for areas you own, aligning engineering decisions with brand and business objectives.
• Grow engineers' technical range across domains, stacks, and disciplines so the team can tackle new problem spaces quickly.
• Maintain uncompromising quality and reliability in the shopping funnel with robust CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response practices.
• Move fast with incomplete information, run small experiments, and validate assumptions without long planning cycles.
• Hire, develop, and mentor engineers and managers to foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.
• Integrate AI/ML safely into products; guide teams on AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve traveler outcomes and velocity.
• Coordinate delivery across workstreams, manage dependencies and cross-team integration for end-to-end capabilities across product domains.
