Job summary

Intertek Group in Buckinghamshire, England, is seeking a Propulsion Test Technician to join our propulsion test facilities. You will be directly involved in preparing test hardware, setting up engine test systems and supporting maintenance activities.

A hands-on mechanical mindset and a proactive, safety‑driven approach are essential. You will work with engineers and technicians to ensure tests run efficiently and to high standards, while contributing to robust data collection and problem

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in automotive/mechanical environments is desirable.
• Vocational qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is desirable.
• Interest in vehicles and engineering with a willingness to learn is valued.

Responsibilities

• Conduct propulsion system tests using lab-based facilities as directed by project engineers.
• Monitor and record test data, raise anomalies to engineers.
• Assist in troubleshooting and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Support test scheduling, documentation, data management and hardware inventories.
• Prepare and assemble project hardware, perform disassembly and modifications as needed.
• Carry out basic fabrication to meet mounting and fixture requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient test facility and participate in continuous improvement.
