Job summary

Candour Solutions in Manchester is seeking a Principal Engineer who will own the platform architecture and delivery while remaining hands-on. You will shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with the CTO to set engineering standards and best practices.

You will design features across the full stack, drive REST/GraphQL integrations, and advance CI/CD processes. Proactively explore AI coding tools to add value and improve testing and code quality.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience with hands-on architecture and delivery responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Node.js, Go or similar technologies.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle and ownership of technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own technical decisions across architecture, development and delivery.
• Design, build and ship features across the full stack.
• Stay hands-on while mentoring and supporting other engineers.
• Develop and improve CI/CD processes and engineering practices.
• Work with REST/GraphQL APIs and third-party integrations.
• Use AI coding tools effectively within day-to-day development.
• Identify opportunities to introduce AI/LLM functionality where it adds value.
• Contribute to automated testing, code reviews and technical standards.
