Job summary

Pilgrims Europe in Orchard is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for the Broiler operation. The role involves hands-on duties, working closely with the Farm Manager, and ensuring smooth daily farm activities.

The candidate should have poultry experience, a Level 2/3 Poultry Passport, and be prepared to undertake NVQs; accommodation is provided and a performance bonus may apply. This 48‑hour week role operates 5 from 7, with occasional extra days.

• Previous experience in a Poultry Farm environment.
• Level 2 / 3 Poultry Passport Qualification.
• Be prepared to undertake NVQs.

Responsibilities

• Assist and maintain the smooth running of the Broiler farm in line with Pilgrims Europe competency framework.
• Liaise with the Farm Manager to maintain up-to-date records on birds, food and supplies.
• Ensure adequate stock and correct ordering; manage welfare and environment.
• Deputise for the Farm Manager when needed and cover alarms/calls.
• Supervise and train Farm Assistants in farm operations where applicable.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental practices to reduce waste.
