Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking an experienced Broiler Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Lead a small team, ensure bird welfare, hygiene, and performance, and manage budgets and records.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a modern broiler farm with a 48-hour week pattern and a 5-from-7 shift, plus sixth day as needed. A driving licence is essential; company van provided after checks.

Qualifications

• Broiler farm management experience.
• Experience in poultry/agriculture sector.
• Strong people management and leadership capabilities.
• Supervisory experience.
• Budget management experience.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to undertake NVQs or further professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day broiler farm operations and husbandry activities.
• Monitor and control ventilation, heating, feeding, watering, and lighting systems to maintain optimal growing conditions.
• Ensure highest standards of bird welfare, biosecurity, and hygiene.
• Maintain accurate farm records relating to bird performance, feed, suppliers, and stock management.
• Liaise with internal departments to communicate bird weights, stock numbers, and production information.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a small farm team through coaching, training, and regular performance reviews.
• Champion health and safety practices for all employees, visitors, and contractors on site.
• Take responsibility for farm security and estate management activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable farming practices.
• Ensure the farm consistently operates within agreed financial and physical budgets.
