Job summary

BRE is seeking a Physical Security Technician to join our Assurance Division in Watford. This hands-on role involves testing physical security products to national, international and LPCB standards, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

You will conduct manual attack testing, prepare technical data for reports, maintain testing facilities, and support project delivery within agreed timelines. A technical qualification (e.g., BTEC) and strong communication skills are essential.

• Technical qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Ability to conduct physical attack testing to national/international/LPCB standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate technical reporting.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual attack testing of physical security products against standards.
• Prepare technical data and information for reports and certification.
• Assist with drafting testing proposals for security equipment.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and testing facilities.
• Support testing project delivery within timelines and quality standards.
• Promote BRE’s security services at industry events.
• Ensure health, safety and housekeeping in testing environments.
• Contribute to developing testing capabilities and accreditation schedules.
