Bristol Van Removals in Bristol is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations, develop teams and implement systems and standards for growth.

This hands-on role balances people management with problem solving, visiting sites and driving operational improvements to support the business as it expands. You’ll help shape processes and performance, leading from the front with a focus on excellence.

Qualifications

• Significant removals experience or strong transport/ logistics background.
• Experience managing drivers and field teams.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure.
• Excellent communication and proactive approach.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily removals operations.
• Leading and supporting Team Leaders and operational staff.
• Managing fleet readiness, equipment and resources.
• Running morning operations and preparing the day.
• Resolving customer escalations and operational issues.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, coaching and staff development.
• Conducting meetings, performance reviews and disciplinary processes.
• Monitoring KPIs and trends in performance.
• Improving communication between office and field teams.
• Developing systems, processes and standards as the business grows.
• Visiting jobs where additional leadership or technical support is required.
• Supporting crews with complex removals challenges as needed.
