Job summary

The Symphony Group Plc is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Barnsley site on a full-time, permanent basis. You will maintain and repair production equipment, perform planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly.

This hands-on role requires a proven 4-year industrial background, NVQ Level 3, and the ability to work a 4 shift rota, with CMMS literacy and a collaborative approach to support contractors and apprentices.

Qualifications

• 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Able to work a 4-shift rota and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production plant and equipment.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime.
• Communicate with on-site contractors and remote service engineers.
• Diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
• Fault find on mechanical systems e.g. gearboxes and hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
• Maintain records and reports within the CMMS system.
• Monitor stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
• Mentor apprentices.
