Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is working with a Daventry-based specialist engineering company to recruit a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Technician. In the workshop you will assemble, build, repair and recondition equipment, with occasional travel to customer sites across the UK.

You should have experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, read technical drawings, use hand tools, and work safely with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Practical, proactive approach to problem solving.
• Flexible when it comes to working hours.
• Attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings.
• Competent with bench work and hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, building, fitting and repairing products in workshop and on customer sites.
• Carrying out quality control inspections to meet standards.
• Reading and following technical drawings, client specs and instructions.
• Ensuring work is safe and in line with procedures.
• Liaising with production and technical teams.
• Maintaining tools and keeping the workshop organized.
