Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Maintenance Engineer Assistant in London (Park Royal/Acton area) to support engineers and prepare equipment for maintenance. The role involves dismantling and reassembling machinery, with a 4-on, 4-off night shift pattern and a salary of £34,900.

Candidates should have hands-on mechanical experience, basic tool use, and a strong safety mindset. Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential if practical experience is solid.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Good practical/mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using basic mechanical tools.
• Confidence taking machinery apart and putting it back together correctly.
• Ability to follow instructions and work methodically.
• Good understanding of health and safety around machinery.
• Willingness to learn and develop engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Engineers with day-to-day engineering activities.
• Dismantle machinery for servicing and maintenance.
• Reassemble machinery after servicing.
• Prepare equipment for planned maintenance activities.
• Carry out basic mechanical maintenance and adjustments.
• Work safely around industrial machinery and follow site procedures.
• Keep equipment, tools and work areas clean and organised.
