Job summary

Castle Employment Agency Ltd is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for a busy engineering and manufacturing environment in Scarborough. You will operate a range of machinery, set up and monitor production, and perform basic quality checks to ensure targets are met.

Training will be provided on company machines; previous operating experience is essential. The role offers dayshift hours with regular overtime opportunities and a pay rate of £15.00–£16.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience is essential.
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, steel processing or a similar environment.
• Confident working with industrial machinery.
• Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, practical and willing to learn additional machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operating a range of engineering and production machinery.
• Setting up and monitoring machinery throughout production.
• Carrying out basic machine checks and quality inspections.
• Following job instructions and production requirements.
