Job summary

Adaptable Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract in the Crewe area. The role is on-site with one day of work-from-home, offering a £35,000–£40,000 salary plus a completion bonus.

You will provide practical HR guidance, handle employee relations, and ensure HR processes are delivered compliantly in a fast-paced environment. You’ll support recruitment, onboarding, payroll data management, attendance and absence processes, and contribute to HR projects

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
• Strong employee relations experience, particularly disciplinaries and grievances.
• Experience supporting absence management and occupational health processes.
• Knowledge of payroll inputs, time and attendance systems, or workforce planning processes.
• Up-to-date understanding of UK employment law.
• Confidence challenging and influencing managers at all levels.
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
• A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• Manage a range of employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance and conduct issues.
• Lead investigations, hearings and formal meetings, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
• Oversee occupational health referrals and support return-to-work and reasonable adjustment processes.
• Take ownership of time and attendance administration, ensuring accurate records and payroll data.
• Produce HR reports, maintain employee records and prepare HR documentation.
• Support the delivery of HR initiatives, policy implementation and continuous improvement projects.
