Job summary

The Portfolio Group in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a Financial Controller to own the day-to-day finance function for a hands-on, growing business. This newly created role requires practical commercial focus, strong accounting capability and a proactive approach to build the finance function from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Experience producing monthly management accounts.
• Strong cashflow and working capital understanding.
• Payroll experience.
• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial people.
• Hands-on, practical and commercially minded.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reports.
• Oversee credit control, aged debt and customer accounts.
• Oversee month-end processes and timely close of accounts.
• Manage end-of-month payments and supplier payments.
• Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts.
• Monitor cash position and working capital.
• Support year-end accounts and relationships with external accountants.
