Job summary

Four Squared Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller in Sutton Coldfield to own the finance function, deliver accurate monthly reporting, and lead a small finance team reporting to the Finance Director.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and robust financial controls, while ensuring AML oversight, treasury support, and regulatory compliance in a growing, regulated trading environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified or QBE in ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Experience in SME environments.
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and VAT/compliance.
• AML experience including MLRO responsibilities.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience leading a finance team.
• Experience in trading/distribution/regulatory environments.
• Treasury, FX or hedging experience.
• Experience with external audits and tax knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the finance function, monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Maintain robust financial controls and timely financial information.
• Lead and develop the finance team and interact with the Finance Director.
• Ensure VAT returns, audits, and regulatory reporting are compliant.
• Support AML oversight and treasury processes.
• Provide variance analysis and commentary for performance reviews.
