Job summary

Myton Food Group is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to ensure smooth operation of the manufacturing site. You will minimise downtime, drive improved performance, lead a hands-on engineering team, and coordinate maintenance with the broader team.

The role requires NVQ3/ONC/BTEC qualifications, prior FMCG experience, and strong people-management skills. A focus on HACCP standards and safety is essential, with opportunities for career progression within Morrisons' manufacturing network.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical/electrical engineering or similar.
• Proven track record in an engineering role within FMCG environment (ideally food industry).
• Proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team.
• Good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to decide quickly on the spot.
• Can-do attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Minimising machinery downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance.
• Improving equipment performance without compromising quality.
• Engaging and developing the engineering team.
• Leading asset care programmes to prolong asset life and reduce costs.
• Maintaining a hands-on approach to repair and optimisation of assets.
• Coordinating maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team.
• Preparing for and managing crisis incidents, accidents and near misses.
