Job summary

FMG Repair Services in Slough is offering an Apprentice MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician role. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines and work towards a national Level 3 qualification.

You don’t need prior experience. You will be supported by an in-house mentor, receive block-release training every six weeks, and be guided by experienced technicians to learn safely and to industry standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Enjoys practical, hands-on work and problem solving.
• Reliable team player with good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, trim and non-structural body components.
• Learn to diagnose vehicle faults, including basic electrical systems.
• Assist with panel alignment and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Follow approved repair methods to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
• Learn to use specialist tools and equipment safely, including welding and soldering under supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.
• Work with experienced technicians to develop practical skills.
• Communicate effectively with the team and contribute to high-quality repairs.
