Job summary

Teaching Vacancies in Royal Leamington Spa is seeking a Technician in Animal Welfare to support the Animal Welfare and Veterinary Nursing Department. You will provide practical instruction, assist with preparation of materials, and supervise students in practical subjects, both individually and in groups.

The post is a temporary maternity cover until 31 July 2027, pro rata with a salary of £20,186.75 per annum. Flexible weekends on a rota will be required.

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 2 in Animal Welfare or demonstrable experience.
• Evidence of formal structured training in a relevant vocation.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a well-prepared animal centre environment with high standards of animal husbandry and welfare.
• Assist in the supervision of students during animal handling and practical tasks.
• Prepare materials and maintain resources for practical tasks.
• Support curriculum delivery and the smooth operation of the animal centre.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
