West Suffolk College is seeking an enthusiastic Technician Demonstrator for its Animal Studies team. You will deliver practical sessions across Level 1–3, support learners to develop vocational skills, and help maintain high standards of animal husbandry, care and welfare.

You will contribute to the Animal Centre's day-to-day running, including feeding, cleaning, health and safety checks, records management and enrichment activities, while supporting learner placements and liaising with

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above in an animal-related specialism.
• Professional animal handling skills.
• At least one year's relevant industry experience, including experience of working with and/or managing a diverse animal collection.
• Experience of teaching, training and learner development would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging practical sessions across Level 1–3 programmes and support learners' vocational and practical skills.
• Assist with day-to-day running of the Animal Centre: feeding, cleaning, health and safety checks, records and resources.
• Administer medication where required and develop enrichment programmes for the animal collection.
• Support learner placements and liaise with veterinary professionals to provide high-quality learner experiences.
• Contribute to safeguarding, compliance and continuous improvement within the Animal Studies team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Technician Demonstrator to join our thriving Animal Studies team, delivering engaging practical sessions across Level 1 to Level 3 programmes.Make a real impact on student development by supporting learners to develop their vocational and practical skills through teaching, assessment, work-related experience and industry-focused activities. Work in a diverse and engaging Animal Centre environment, gaining opportunities to work with a wide range of species while supporting practical sessions and maintaining high standards of animal husbandry, care and welfare. You will contribute to the day-to-day running of the Animal Centre, including feeding, cleaning, health and safety checks, maintaining records and resources, administering medication where required, and developing and implementing enrichment programmes. You will also support learner placements, liaise with veterinary professionals and contribute to providing high-quality learner experiences across the provision.

• 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year- Maternity Cover
• Commencing December 2026
