Job summary

Chelsea FC is seeking a dedicated Coach to support the Player Development Programme in Hampshire. You will help lead planning and execution of all in-school, out-of-school and holiday activities, delivering safe, high-quality coaching while building a network to expand opportunities.

You will conduct regular 1:1s with contracted staff, review KPIs, and participate in team meetings. The role supports the wider Soccer School activities and requires a proactive, inclusive approach.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of UEFA C working towards a UEFA B License.
  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the effective planning, communication and execution of the Player Development Programme running in Hampshire, including in-school, out-of-school and holiday activity.
  • Deliver safe, inclusive and high-quality coaching across the Hampshire PDP across all activities and holidays.
  • Help lead on managing the programme/activity schedule.
  • Help lead on developing the wider area network to create additional sporting opportunities for the programme delivery.
  • Conduct regular 1:1’s with contracted staff to review performance, KPIs and development opportunities.
  • Undertake any Club activities as required.

Job description

DEPARTMENT: Commercial, Soccer Schools, Hampshire

DIRECT REPORTS: Contracted Coaches

CONTRACT: Permanent, 35 hours any 6 of 7 days.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To help lead on the effective planning, communication and execution of the Player Development Programme running in Hampshire. These to include, but not limited to all In-School and Out of School activity, Player Development Programme activity and the various activity delivered during the school holidays.
  • To deliver safe, inclusive and high quality coaching activity across the Hampshire Player Development Programme (PDP). These to include, but not limited to all In-School and Out of School activity, Player Development Programme activity and the various activity delivered during the school holidays.
  • To help lead on managing the programme/activity schedule.
  • To help lead on developing the wider area network to create additional sporting opportunities to further enhance the delivery of the programme.
  • To conduct regular 1:1’s with contracted staff to review performance and KPI’s and objectives, involvement in team meetings and investing in their development/training opportunities/CPD.
  • To undertake any Club activities that maybe required in addition to the role.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

  • To achieve and surpass all of the participation and budget targets that have been set for Player Development Programme.
  • To actively seek ways in which to increase participation across the Player Development Programme.
  • To deliver coaching sessions across the week at no less than 50% of the contracted hours. (The 50% does not include travel and set up/down).
  • To ensure efficiencies at all activities and supporting the wider team in financial growth.
  • To be a positive role model, creating a safe, positive, inclusive and fun environment in which to educate, motivate and inspire young people and other participants ensuring they have a positive Chelsea experience.
  • To build robust relationships with both internal and external customers, local schools, clubs, organisations, businesses, governing bodies and authorities.
  • To help and support CFC Soccer School Staff to mentor and guide sessional workers in best practice and professionalism.
  • To sustain and further develop activities through participation growth.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of UFEA C working towards a UEFA B License.
  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate.

Experience:

  • Been involved in a professional Community and or Academy Department.
  • Supported the running/managing a programme.
  • Working towards KPI’s and managing team members to their KPI.
