Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, to recruit a Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher for an immediate start. You will deliver practical and theory-based lessons to dedicated learners, helping them progress and gain employability skills.

Ideal candidates hold UK QTS (or FE teaching experience) and relevant Hairdressing/Beauty qualifications. You will manage classes, differentiate tasks, assess progress, and collaborate with staff to maintain

Qualifications

• QTS in the UK or FE teaching experience.
• Relevant professional Hairdressing and/or Beauty qualifications.
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Hairdressing & Beauty industry.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging vocational lessons.
• Able to teach secondary-aged pupils or FE learners.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for varying ability levels.
• Confident assessing learner progress and providing feedback.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Hairdressing and Beauty lessons.

Castle Bromwich that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced

Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher or experienced

Further Education Hairdressing & Beauty lecturer/teacher who is passionate about sharing their industry knowledge and helping young people develop practical, vocational and employability skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging

Hairdressing and Beauty lessons to secondary-aged pupils, combining practical instruction with relevant theory and ensuring students are supported to make progress and achieve positive outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

The successful Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher will ideally:

• Hold
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, or have previous experience teaching Hairdressing & Beauty within Further Education.
• Hold relevant professional Hairdressing and/or Beauty qualifications.
• Have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of the Hairdressing and Beauty industry.
• Have experience planning and delivering engaging vocational lessons.
• Be confident teaching secondary-aged pupils or FE learners.
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Be able to differentiate lessons for pupils with varying levels of ability.
• Be confident assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to teaching and learning.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Key Responsibilities

As a Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher, you will:

Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements

• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive.

• Complete TeacherActive's safeguarding and compliance requirements before commencing the placement.
