Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital and Royal Liverpool University Hospital. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant within the Haematology and Transfusion Department at the Royal site.

The role supports registered Biomedical Scientists, handles specimen receipt and preparation, and maintains instruments in a busy 24-hour department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent in science subjects.
• Demonstrable NHS laboratory/ office experience.

Responsibilities

• The primary receipt and preparation of potentially hazardous patient specimens.
• Provide essential support to registered Biomedical Scientists in the Haematology and Transfusion Department.
• Accurate entry and retrieval of confidential patient information using the laboratory computer system.
