Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist to join the Flow Cytometry team within the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS) at St James Hospital, Leeds. The role focuses on haemato-oncology molecular work and contributes to diagnosing leukemias and other malignancies.

The successful candidate will work with Biomedical Scientists, Clinical Scientists and a Haematopathologist to maintain and develop the service, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• IBMS accredited BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
• State registration or near completion of a registration portfolio.
• Previous experience in a flow cytometry laboratory and/or laboratory Haematology advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic service.
• Perform a range of routine and more complex investigations, some under supervision.
• Communicate information related to patient management and care to colleagues and healthcare staff.
