Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly capable Consultant Haematologist to help develop our clinical and laboratory haematology services. The post-holder will join a team of four consultants, work across outpatient and inpatient settings, and participate in on-call duties on a 1:5 basis.

We anticipate a move toward sub-specialisation with a focus on Myeloma. This is a permanent, part-time role with flexible working patterns and opportunities to engage with a research

Qualifications

• Essential GMC registration with Specialist Register/CE/SER options.
• Higher medical qualification suitable for a consultant.
• Experience managing NHS haematology service and research interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide general haematology care with subspecialisation options.
• Offer clinical guidance to GPs via email system.
• Assume clinical responsibility for patients under general medicine inpatient care.
• Ensure coverage for leave and on-call duties.
• Be available in the laboratory after hours for major incidents.
