Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Consultant in Haematology (8PA) based at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The post strengthens our integrated clinical and laboratory haematology service with leadership responsibilities for the general Haematology Laboratory and deputy leadership within the Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Team.

Qualifications

• Must be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Haematology or be within six months of award at interview.
• Experience leading Haematology Laboratory and involvement in haemoglobinopathy pathways is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Haematology Laboratory.
• Deputy lead for adult Specialist Haematology/Haemoglobinopathy services.
• Contribute to haemoglobinopathy, immune haematology and thrombophilia clinics.
• Participate in on-call rota and teaching for residents, biomedical scientists and medical students.
• Engage in governance, audit and service improvement activities.
