Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide specialist, evidence-based care for patients with malignant and non-malignant haematology conditions. The role involves supporting patients physically and emotionally, coordinating care, and advising on diagnosis within the hospital and wider Trust area.

Qualifications

Degree-level education is required.
NMC registration as a first level (RGN) nurse is required.
Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience.
Awareness of the haematology service and patient pathway.

Responsibilities

Provide specialist, evidence-based care to haematology patients in the hospital and across the Trust area.
Give patients physical and emotional support.
Coordinate patients' care services.
Inform and advise patients on clinical and practical issues linked to their diagnosis.
Act as a key worker, promoting patients' health and wellbeing.
Travel to community hospitals to run clinics and liaise with colleagues.
Develop competencies within the departmental competency framework.
Take an active role in continuing professional development.
Work weekends or from home where required to meet future service needs.
