Job summary

The post is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London, within the NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership. The role requires HCPC registration and IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology & Blood Transfusion, with hybrid/shift patterns as per AfC terms.

You will rotate across labs in the ESEL network, delivering high-quality diagnostic services and working toward the IBMS Diploma within a 2-year window.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist and IBMS Portfolio evidence.
• Essential containment of Haematology & Blood Transfusion experience.
• Experience with laboratory IT systems and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out/supervise technical and scientific work in a laboratory section under supervision.
• Maintain patient-focused, cost-effective and efficient service as HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
• Rotate through sections; work across ESEL network; participate in AfC day/night or night shifts.
• Progress to IBMS Specialist Diploma within 2 years and potential Specialist Band 6 advancement.
