Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Health and Safety Officer in Tilbury Docks. The role involves managing compliance and safety operations on construction sites, creating risk assessments, and engaging with stakeholders. Candidates need a background in Manufacturing or Construction and must be first aid trained. NEBOSH certification and a strong understanding of CDM are required along with auditing experience to ISO standards. The contract spans 12 weeks, with shifts Monday to Friday, offering a rate of £40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Candidates must come from Manufacturing or Construction background.
• First aid certification is required.
• Knowledge of regulations including COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, and DSEAR is beneficial.

Rate: £40ph Outside IR35

Location: Tilbury Docks

Length of contract: 12x weeks starting ASAP!

Shifts: Monday – Friday 40hours with potential for overtime

The Ideal candidate for this Health & Safety Officer role will have a background in Manufacturing and/or Construction projects. CDM background is essential.

Health & Safety Officer role & responsibilities:

• Permits to work
• Creation of risk assessments and method statements
• Management of compliance towards H&S on the construction site
• Completion of all H&S documentation
• Toolbox talks
• The Health & Safety Manager will oversee day-to-day H&S operations
• Maintain and improve H&S management systems (CDM background beneficial)
• Ensure compliance with key regulations including COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, and DSEAR
• Conduct gap analyses, implement improvements
• Fire and risk assessments; building safety
• Engaging stakeholders across construction site

Health & Safety Officer Experience:

• First aid trained
• CDM understanding is key
• Candidates must come from Manufacturing/construction background
• NEBOSH general
• Strong auditing experience to ISO standards
