Job summary

North East Derbyshire District Council is seeking a Gymnastics Coach for Clay Cross Active Centre. The role is permanent, part-time (8.5 hours per week) with a salary band of £29,542–£32,046 per year. Evening and weekend work may be required, and successful applicants will be DBS Enhanced checked.

Prerequisites include General Coach Level 2 or equivalent and Leading Gymnastics Sessions, plus ability to coach across age ranges and ensure safety practices in a leisure setting.

• Practical experience coaching gymnastics including modern techniques.
• Strong understanding of safety and safeguarding in a leisure environment.
• Evenings and weekends availability may be required.

Salary / Grade: Grade 7 - £29,542 to 32,046 pa (£15.31 to £16.61 hourly rate)

Hours / Days: 8.50 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Clay Cross Active, Market Street. Clay Cross, Chesterfield

Located in Clay Cross, our leisure centre offers a range of facilities including sports halls, swimming pools, health and fitness suites and Gyms

The successful candidate will need to have practical experience in coaching gymnastics, including modern gymnastics techniques. They must also have a strong understanding of safety and safeguarding in a leisure environment.

The working hours may include evenings & weekends

To be successful you will need

• British Gymnastics General Gymnastics Coach Level 2 or Equivalent
• British Gymnastics Leading Gymnastics Sessions
• The ability to deal with a full age range of customers.
• To be physically fit & capable of heavy lifting.
• Experience of working in a team and acting on own initiative.

The successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure carried out by the DBS at the Enhanced Level.
