Job summary

Sheridan Maine is recruiting a Mixed Tax Senior for an established Guildford, Surrey-based accountancy practice. You will manage personal and corporate tax clients, handle tax compliance and advisory work, and liaise with HMRC as a key contact. The role offers development opportunities within a supportive team.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in UK practice, ATT or CTA progression, strong tax knowledge, and excellent communication. Eligible to work in the UK full time is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• ATT qualification, or studying towards CTA, or equivalent tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of personal and corporate taxation.
• Experience preparing tax returns and managing compliance deadlines.
• Understanding of tax planning and advisory work.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and HMRC.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Excel.
• Proactive, professional approach with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
• Prepare and review personal tax returns and corporation tax computations.
• Ensure tax compliance obligations are met on time.
• Provide clients with practical advice on tax matters.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory assignments.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolve queries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a main contact.
• Support junior colleagues and review their work as needed.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners on complex tax matters and ad hoc projects.
