Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is recruiting a GRP Composite Technician for a family-run manufacturer in Barnsley. The role involves laminating with GRP/fibreglass, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Training is available for the right candidate, with emphasis on learning resin handling, mould preparation and shaping. This is a permanent, full-time position offering 40 hours per week and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience with resins and fibreglass preferred.
• Training available for candidates keen to develop skills.
• Good attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• General labouring duties including trimming, lifting and splicing.
• Mould preparation.
• Release of simple moulds.
• Use of hand tools and handheld power tools such as grinders and sanders.
• Bond preparation and basic housekeeping.
• Correct use of PPE and personal accountability.

A well-established, family-run manufacturing business is seeking an experienced GRP COmposite Technician to join its growing team. Fibreglass Lamination experience is preferred but they are open to training the right candidate with a good attitude and has worked with hand and power tools.

Duties and Responsibilities of GRP Composite Technician

• General labouring duties including trimming, lifting and splicing
• Mould preparation
• Release of simple moulds
• Use of hand tools
• Use of handheld power tools such as grinders and sanders
• Bond preparation
• Basic housekeeping duties
• Correct use of PPE
• Taking responsibility and accountability for your own work

The Ideal Candidate for a GRP Composite Technician

The successful applicant will ideally have at least one year's experience working with resins and fibreglass; however, this is preferred rather than essential. Applications are also welcomed from individuals who are keen to learn and develop these skills through training.

• Experience with wet lay lamination techniques (preferred)
• Experience with chop spray application techniques (preferred)
