Job summary

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking a Programme Officer – Growth to support planning, coordination and delivery of regeneration and economic development programmes across South Yorkshire. The role focuses on moving projects from concept to delivery with robust governance and stakeholder engagement.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, coordinating with local authorities, funding bodies and partners to unlock development opportunities and drive meaningful

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supporting complex regeneration, economic development or place-based programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building across diverse stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with monitoring and reporting experience.
• Experience of budget monitoring, procurement or governance activities.
• Passion for growth, regeneration and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of regeneration, growth and economic development projects across South Yorkshire.
• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, delivery partners, funders and communities.
• Monitor programme performance, maintain project documents and help manage risks and dependencies.
• Prepare reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior leaders and governance boards.
• Support funding, procurement and budget monitoring to ensure compliant delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of programme management processes and share lessons learned.
