Job summary

Paul Card Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant for a Billingham-based business entering a growth phase. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting and reporting activities and supporting a high-performing finance function.

This role offers a development path across the finance function, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and strategic reporting as the company expands across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role with reconciliations, journals and transactional finance processes.
• AAT Level 3 qualification preferred.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to challenge and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and reporting.
• Complete bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support financial controls.
• Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.
