Job summary

TOTAL Plumbing, part of the LBS Builders Merchants Group, is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in running a busy, customer-focused branch. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, drive sales, manage stock and merchandising, and coach the team.

The role emphasizes customer relations, adherence to HSE and company policies, and delivering branch targets. Hours are about 43.25 per week, Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm, with one alternate Saturday morning every two

Qualifications

Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within the plumbing trade, retail, or merchanting sector.
A strong focus on customer service and relationship building.
Good commercial and financial awareness.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
A hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

Supporting the Branch Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the branch.
Deputising for the Branch Manager as required.
Assisting with stock control, purchasing, and merchandising.
Driving sales opportunities and helping grow the customer base.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Supporting financial targets, cash collection, and profit improvement.
Motivating, coaching, and developing staff.
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, HR, and company policies.
