Job summary

Lancaster University is seeking a current student for a GROW Your Future Marketing Assistant role. The position supports student-focused campaigns, content creation, and branding across campus and online.

You will manage the GYF Instagram channel, develop promotional materials in Canva, gather student feedback, and work with a supportive team while balancing study commitments.

The role is open to UK-based students with flexible hours (3–5 per week) and a defined end date in mid-2027.

Qualifications

Role & Department Overview

The GROW Your Future team within the Careers and Employability Services are looking for a current Lancaster University student to join the team on a flexible, part-time basis as a GROW Your Future Marketing Assistant.

GROW Your Future (GYF) is a Widening Participation (WP) initiative, designed to support students from underrepresented and/or disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing a gateway to accessing additional targeted careers support and activity. GYF offers opportunities through a variety of initiatives, and aims to be a supportive student community.

This is an exciting and varied role working with a supportive team developing GROW Your Future. It is an opportunity to develop and evidence a range of employability skills needed for any future career, as well as contribute to the GROW Your Future community.

Preferred start date: 2nd of November 2026

Expected end date: 31st of July 2027

Interview date: 20th of October 2026

Weekly hours: 3- 5 hours per week

Location: Remotely (in the UK) and on the Lancaster University campus

Job Description

As a GROW Your Future Marketing Assistant, you will support the GROW Your Future team by focusing on the student experience, requiring marketing and design experience to promote GYF to the student body, and the many activities this includes to the GYF student community.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Current student at Lancaster University

• Skilled user of social media, with a focus on Instagram
• Good working knowledge of Canva
• Able to create engaging social media content including images and graphics through Canva working within our GYF branding guidelines
