Job summary

Victim Support is seeking a Group Work Practitioner to deliver group courses for adults affected by crime in Thames Valley. The role is home-based with occasional travel within the area for team meetings and case collaboration.

You will co-facilitate programmes, manage a personal caseload, and work with service staff to provide emotional and practical support. Strong empathy, resilience and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Work Practitioner to join the team in Thames Valley working 37.5 hours a week. This is a home based role with occasional travel required throughout the area for team meetings.

About the Role

As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. You will be required to manage your own caseload and work in collaboration with other service delivery staff within the Thames Valley Adult Victims Service.

The Thames Valley Adult Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will primarily be delivered through specialist group work provision, alongside online and telephone support.

You will be confident in co facilitating the delivery of group work programmes to people with a range of different needs and will have strong empathy skills. You will need to be able to talk to groups of people and will be resilient and confident with supporting others, as well as happy to work as part of a team.

You will need:

• to be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands
• an understanding and knowledge of, and an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity
• knowledge of confidentiality and safe working practice in accordance with safeguarding legislation, General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements
