Job description

Referment is working with a financial services technology company with operations across the UK, US and other international markets. Its finance function is lean and hands-on, and this role owns the group's tax reporting end to end.

The Role

You’ll own the preparation and delivery of the group's tax reporting under IFRS, including current and deferred tax calculations and the tax disclosures for the annual report, coordinating the year-end process across all group entities. You’ll make sure tax balances are accurate in the group consolidation and statutory accounts, manage transfer pricing documentation and policy, and act as the primary liaison with external auditors on tax reporting.

On compliance, you’ll manage UK corporation tax and oversee US federal and state filings with local advisors, along with other international jurisdictions and indirect taxes such as VAT and sales tax. You’ll keep pace with changing legislation and assess the impact on the group, and manage R&D tax claims. You’ll also improve tax controls and documentation and, in a small team, take on day-to-day administrative work alongside the technical delivery, supporting finance systems and process projects.

What We're Looking For
  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent), with post-qualification experience in a tax-focused role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax and tax accounting; familiarity with US tax concepts is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience managing group tax reporting in a multi-entity, international environment.
  • Comfort operating in a lean finance team where hands-on administrative work sits alongside technical delivery.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with finance and ERP systems.
  • Clear communication, with the ability to explain tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
  • A self-starter, well organised and able to manage competing deadlines.
Desirable
  • Experience using AI to improve processes.

This could suit a group tax or tax reporting manager in a listed or international business, or a qualified tax professional in practice or industry looking for broader ownership in-house.
